Marysville’s fireworks show epic

Editorial

Wow. Spectacular. Epic…

It’s hard to find the right superlative to describe the Marysville Fourth of July fireworks show.

You know how at most shows a bunch of fireworks are shot off in a row to signify the end.

Well, the entire show was like that.

What made it even better was the fireworks bursts were right in front of us.

We were in an open area south of Marysville-Pilchuck High School, so there was nothing blocking our view.

The city posted a safe zone that didn’t seem very far from where the fireworks took off.

And they didn’t seem like they went up that high before exploding, making it all the more powerful.

Hats off to the city for providing us with such an amazing show.

Thanks for providing us with music by Baby Cakes from Bellingham. And for games that kids and adults could play like volleyball and cornhole. And for the bouncy houses that kids could blow off steam in while waiting for the grand finale of the event.

Thanks also for allowing the Marysville Kiwanis Club to sell food to raise money for local scholarships. And for the WhistleStop Sweet Shop for their fare.

Since the personal fireworks ban a few years ago, we’ve been missing out on the Fourth. But not any longer. We hope the city continues to offer such an event and possibly expand it even more in the future.

Thanks city of Marysville. It was a blast.
