MARYSVILLE – Don’t forget to spring forward your clocks to begin daylight saving time at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 8.
Using this time as a reminder each year, the Marysville Fire District also encourages residents to change the batteries in your smoke alarms.
Train, SUV collide
MARYSVILLE — Four people, including three children, were hurt after their SUV was hit by a train Saturday night.
An Amtrak passenger train struck the vehicle in the 1300 block of 8th Street, according to the Marysville Fire District.
Marysville firefighters took a 2-, 3- and 7-year-old to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, where they were in stable condition. The man driving the SUV was taken to the hospital by Marysville police.
None of the 34 people on the train were injured.
The Marysville Police Department was investigating.
Hi-Q playoffs
MARYSVILLE – Marysville-Pilchuck clinched second place and will host a Hi-Q playoff matchup after its final regular-season win Monday.
M-P stood out in American history, art history and Shakespeare to win with 39 points, compared with Mountlake Terrace with 24 and Lynnwood with 15.
Overall, after the three rounds, M-P was second with 114 points. Archbishop Murphy was first with 127.
The playoff will include Marysville Getchell and Mountlake Terrace March 11 at 9:40 a.m. MG was sixth with 86 points and MLT seventh with 84.
Silvana auction
SILVANA – The Silvana Fair Auction will take place at 5 p.m. March 14 at Viking Hall in Silvana.
Admission for the public event is free for all ages. There will be a snack bar, silent and live auctions, and a door prize of $250.
Items include: farm-fresh baked goods, gift certificates from local restaurants and stores, clothing, jewelry, livestock and pet food and supplies, furniture, quilts and blankets, yard art, garden plants, gift certificates for hair care, veterinary, dental and chiropractic care, automotive and home repair services, tools, toys, artwork and more.
Funds raised bring in money for the community fair.

CCS fund-raiser
SILVANA – A Bingo and Potato Bar fund-raiser for Quilceda Community Services will take place Sunday at Viking Hall in Silvana.
Dinner of potato, dessert and drink is $5 and starts at 5 p.m.
A 6 p.m., bingo starts – an entire night for $10.
Viking Hall is at 1331 Pioneer Highway.
There will also be door prizes.
Free clothes
ARLINGTON – Get ready for an interview or job with free clothing from Wear to Work, which offers assistance to women in need. Volunteers can assist guests in selecting outfits from gently used clothing. Additional items include shoes, accessories, undergarments, purses, makeup and toiletries. Daniel Bejar of Marysville, Mateo Fuentes of Tulalip and Aubrie Davidson of Arlington were recently nominated to be the Boys and Girls Clubs of Snohomish County 2020 Youth of the Year.

Coed basketball
MARYSVILLE – Marysville-Pilchuck is hosting a coed basketball game between staff and students to raise money for homeless teens.
The Butterly Buckets game will be March 18 at 6 p.m.
The Associated Student Body event is free, but donations will go to Cocoon House.
