Kathleen Alice Makkreel, 74, of Marysville, Washington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2019, with her final days spent surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.
Born in Seattle, Washington on November 30, 1944, Kathleen was the daughter of the late Dr. Clement and Geneva (Clark) Krantz. She was raised in Bellevue Washington, attended Bellevue High School and graduated from Crofton House in Vancouver, British Columbia, class of 1962.
While living in Vancouver, she met her first husband and had two daughters, Rebecca and Sarah. Kathleen married her second husband, Jan Makkreel, in Orillia, Ontario on April 17, 1980, and together they raised their family in Ontario
and Washington. As their daughters grew up, married and had children, Kathleen treasured time spent with family and watching her grandchildren grow up. Kathleen was an avid reader, loved to garden, play bridge and spend time with her beloved dog, Suki.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her brother John Krantz, by her parents and by her devoted husband Jan.
Kathleen will forever be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Rebecca Nielsen and husband Erik of Richmond, BC and Sarah Rankin and husband Brian of Wakefield, Massachusetts, and her two stepdaughters, Jeannette Bray of Marysville and Victoria Simcox and husband Russ of Marysville. Kathleen is also survived by 12 wonderful grandchildren and two precious greatgrandchildren.
A celebration of Kathleen’s life will take place on Saturday November 2, 1:00 PM, at her daughter Rebecca’s home, 6251 #7 Road, Richmond, B.C., Canada.
