Two local athletes were named All State recently in boys basketball, and another in girls basketball.
Guards Alex Jensen of Lakewood was named to the 2A team, while Luke Dobler of Marysville-Pilchuck was named to the 3A squad.
In girls basketball, Madeline Grandbois of Marysville Getchell was named to the 3A team.
Jensen also was named Most Valuable Player of the Northwest Conference, while Anthony Wiederkehr was named Coach of the Year. Cougar Morgan Stacey made the second team.
Likewise, Dobler’s coach, Bary Gould, was named Coach of the Year for the Wesco 3A North division. Dobler was named to that team as well, along with teammate Cameron Stordahl. Both were on the first team, while Tomahawk Aaron Kalab made second team.
Junior Malakhi Knight made first team for MG, while Arlington sophomore Ethan Martin was on the second team.
For the Wesco North in girls basketball, Arlington, which placed third in state, had sophomore Keira Marsh and junior Hailey Hiatt on the first team, with junior Josie Stupey and freshman Jenna Villa on the second team.
MG senior Grandbois made the first team.
Making all-conference in boys wrestling for M-P were seniors Austin Davis at 120 pounds, Cayden White at 182 and Justin Albee at 285.
MG juniors Cheron Smith made it at 220 and Jesus Cabadas at 145.
Arlington junior Dorian Tollenaar made the team at 113 pounds.
M-P freshman Alivia White made the team as a freshman at 190 pounds. Lakewood’s Torrie Blackwood, a junior, made it at 115 pounds.
The only swimmer who made all-conference was junior diver Andrew Kallio of M-P.
