In Marysville-Pilchuck’s final tuneup before its big home game against Arlington Wednesday, the Tomahawks had their best balanced scoring of the year in beating Oak Harbor Friday night 63-47.

The Tommies led 25-18 at halftime, but outscored the visitors 28-15 in the third quarter to run away with it.

Aaron Kalab scored 20 points to lead the winners. Luke Dobler added 13 points, and RaeQuan Battle and Cameron Stordahl each had 11 points for the Tomahawks (13-3, 10-0 Wesco 3A).

Other M-P scoring: Ethan Jackson and Alec-Jones Smith 2 each, and Brady Phelps had 1.

At Marysville Getchell, the Chargers beat Everett 60-54.

Malakhi Knight recorded 20 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals for MG (8-7, 6-3 Wesco 3A). Caleb Koellmer added 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Josiah Koellmer chipped in 11 points, five rebounds and four assists. Lul William also had 11 and Jesse Donk 4.

Boys wrestling

Marysville-Pilchuck beat up Arlington 55-19, but the Eagles whipped Oak Harbor 54-20 in a meet at Arlington Friday night.

The Eagles got off to a fast start against M-P as at 113 pounds Daniel Heiss pinned Mikey Bejar in 4 minutes, 18 seconds.

Following that at 120 pounds Dorian Tollenaar won a major decision over Alex Foster 14-5.

But then the Tomahawks got on a roll with four-straight pins.

At 126 pounds, Tanner Lauzon pinned Trevor Latta in just 26 seconds; at 132 pounds, Austin Davis pinned Gunner Olson in 1:19; at 138 pounds Nick Cantu pinned Dimitri Shaffer in 4:29; and at 145 pounds Jonathan Goeden pinned Caleb Abenroth in 1:09.

At 152 pounds, Isaiah Galindo of M-P won a major decision over Gavin Howell 10-1, but Arlington got back on the board at 160 pounds when beat Ahmad Humoud in a wild one 17-14.

In another nail biter, at 170 pounds Mauro Bejar got by Kristian Fairbanks 11-9.

M-P again won the next four matches by pin to put it away.

At 182 pounds, Cayden White pinned Levi Wiseman in 1:52; at 195 pounds Ikaika Naweli pinned Cole Hahn in 2:25; at 220 pounds Kamiakin Craig pinned Dawson Reed in 1:19; and at 285 pounds Jeff Rouiller pinned Hunter Strande in only 18 seconds.

Arlington’s other points came by forfeit at 106 pounds for Casten Tollenaar.

Against Oak Harbor, Casten Tollenaar won 7-1; Heiss won by pin in 3:06; Dorian Tollenaar won by forfeit; Latta lost 12-7; Olson was pinned; Shaffer won by pin in 5:35; Abenroth lost 15-0; Howell won by pin, as did Rush and Fairbanks; Wiseman won a tight 4-2 decision; Hahn and Reed won by forfeit; and Strande was pinned.

Meanwhile, at Snohomish, Marysville Getchell won a tight match 42-33.

Omar Salcedo at 113 pounds, Cody Mitchell at 120 and Timothy Doroshuk at 126 got the Chargers off to a fast start, all winning by pin.

But Snohomish came right back with Chargers Garcia-Ramirez and Jesus Cabadas losing by pin and Chris Bonner falling short 9-4. After Ryan Cote pinned John Allen, Charger Andrew Cantu was pinned. At 182 pounds, Edgar Duenas won by pin, but then Corbin Bonner was pinned at 195 pounds. But MG took the final three matches for the win. At 220 pounds, Caleb Blonk won by disqualification; at 285 pounds Erick Duenes won a great match 3-1; and to clinch it at 106 pounds Jacob Steele won by a 6-1 decision.

Girls wrestling

Cassidy O’Hara placed first at 125 pounds to lead Lakewood to a second-place finish at the Viking Girls Invitational Saturday in Puyallup with 122 points. Union won with 130.

A number of Cougars finished tied for third: Torrie Blackwood at 115 pounds; Ashtyn Falor at 120; Olivia Poulton at 130; Rhyleeann Weinberger at 140; and at 235 pounds Elizabeth Aleo. Tying for fifth place at 145 pounds was Lakewood’s Annistazia Kramer.

Meanwhile, Arlington’s girls were fifth with 111 points at a Lady Classic tournament at Everett High School. Marysville’s combined team was 21st with 21 points.

At 120 pounds, Eagle Tailer Cochran was the champion. At 110 pounds, teammate Vivian Potong tied for third. At 135 pounds, Zoe Pittson of Arlington tied for fifth and at 190 Eagle Malia Wayman tied for third. At 235, tying for third was Alyson Ellingson of Arlington. Tony Hatck of Marysville tied for fifth.
